The Mira Tower in San Francisco utilize Cavity Sliders' Commercial AutoCav System to divide large common area.
Construction: RT Western
General Contractor: Lendlease
Architect: Studio Gang
The Mira Tower in San Francisco is a stunning 40 story, 392 unit marvel in the City's financial district. The modern architecture combined with breathtaking bay-front views makes this tower an iconic place to reside. "Our projects on the Folsom St. corridor, including Infinity, LUMINA, and now MIRA, have helped create a real sense of place defining San Francisco as a modern, 24-hour, urban, Class-A metropolis," said Tishman Speyer's Senior Managing Director, Carl Shannon, when asked how the future residential buildings in San Francisco are driving the concepts of mixed-use formats including retail and services.
The building utilizes state-of-the-art technology including Cavity Sliders Commercial AutoCav unit. John McMillan with RT Western (http://www.rtwestern.com/) gave a rundown of how the unit is being used, "On the 5th-floor amenity space, the AutoCav door is used as a room divider to divide the always open community room to a reservable private room," John said, "The owners have chosen to use it in the "Hold Open" and "Hold Close" positions as opposed to automatic because of the room usage."
The AutoCav Commercial has a variety of access control options available. The Mira Tower utilizes a combination of a physical key to switch between device modes and side-mounted sensors.
